Recently finished a new illustration for a client and got permission to share it. I thought I should share the steps of creating it as well. I used a mixture of photo plate, 3d rendering and paint over techniques. I hope you guys find it helpful.
Failed character sketch of the day. Try to do a quick sketch of a design that combine, bird, mech and knight.
More concept painting done using Sketchup. The cityscape in this concept had to be design in a specific way, in terms of layout, style of buildings, and there are also a series of concept painting base on different angle of this city, so I used Sketchup to setup the overall layout to try to speed up the process. Some of the more standard building are downloaded from the Warehouse, and some specific building were modelled in Sketchup
Some speedpainting before work or after lunch, whenever I am not too busy. Brain always feel lazy in the morning or after a meal, I find doing these helps to jump start my brain give myself more motivation. Running helps too :)
Was organizing my hard drive the other day and came across some really old artwork. Looking at these really puts me to shame of how bad I was, but its a decent reminder of the progress I made over the years.
Just sharing some old stuff. Done in Anthony Jones's Class in 2014. Definitely learned a lot from this amazing teacher.
