Finally getting around to upload again. More value studies. Some looking at film reference, some from imagination.
I haven been trying to experiment environment design with Sketchup. Ever since I saw the video of how Sketchup was used in Uncharted 2 for level design, I am been eager to try it. I think its ability to let user bypassing many technical 3d modelling hurdle is great for quick design visualization in 3D. Here I try to use Sketchup for block out major shapes and overall layout of a top down view game environment. Still not entirely comfortable with it yet, since I only started using it for a couple of months.
I have always been shy to show my rough sketch stuff. But I finally took the courage to do it. I have recently committed myself to do 1000 value studies within this year. So here it is, the first 6!
This year, I have decided to make a commitment to further improve my ability as an artist and as a individual. I have always wanted to do a blog to share my drawing and design in order to inspire other people and gain more understand of my own workflow. It is something I have always shy away from doing due to the lack of confident in my skill and the crap excuse of "Always too busy". Now finally I was able to kick my own butt and tell myself, Just do it, Frank!
